A History of the Nation of Islam: Returning to Our Roots
Wednesday, February 21 through Sunday, February 25, 2007
Coleman A. Young Room (lower level of the Charles H. Wright Museum)

Since 1930, The Nation of Islam (NOI) has become a major influence in revitalizing black lives across the country, and has expanded its influence to communities internationally. The organization will celebrate its 77th Anniversary in Detroit, the city of its birth, and will convene the annual Saviours Day on February 25, 2007, at Ford Field.

In conjunction with this festive occasion, members of the organization have developed an exhibition, A History of the Nation of Islam: Returning to Our Roots. The first of its kind, this exhibition features rare photographs, documents, and artifacts, which include personal items belonging to the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

This program will be held in the Museum’s General Motors Theater.
