Make and Take Egyptian Paper Dolls
Explore the popular styles of dress in ancient Egypt. Dress drastically changed according to a persons standing in the kingdom. Dress your own Egyptian dolls by adding clothing, jewelry, and adornment.
Make and Take Egyptian Headdress
In this workshop participants will learn how to make Egyptian Headdress. In ancient Egypt royal women adorned their hair with gold jewels and pharaohs wore names headcloth. Participants will create their own pharaoh’s headdress or an Egyptian queen’s headdress.

Ring of Genealogy
Create a personalized ring of genealogy. Collage a picture that represents your own history using symbols and pictures that are meaningful to you. Before you arrive at the museum, interview some of the elders in your family and learn the names of your great grandparents. Go as far back as you can, and then write in the names of your ancestors around the ring of your collage. Attach a magnet to the back and take home a personalized keepsake.
The Game of Oware
Make your own Oware (popularly known as Mancala) Board. Oware is a well-known game played throughout Africa, including West Africa’s Benin. It is a cup and pebble game. Deceptively simple, skilled players develop mathematical strategy to win. There are many different versions, but in this workshop you will learn how to play with the most popular set of rules and make your own board to take home with you.
